Chamber Committees

The committees of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce turn ideas into action. South Carolina Chamber professionals coordinate and facilitate the work of volunteer members who share their talents and expertise.

General membership requirements for joining a committee (some committees may include additional requirements):

  • All voting members of Standing and Permanent Committees must be employed by or affiliated with a company or entity that is a South Carolina Chamber member.
  • Each member of a committee may serve a two-year term and be eligible for reelection.
  • Two or more consecutive, unexcused absences can result in removal from a committee.
  • No more than 10 percent of the membership of any committee or task force can be comprised of public, quasi-public or non-profit representatives.

Any Chamber member can apply in writing to the staff liaison. Please include qualifications to serve on the committee. The applicant will receive a response and be considered along with any other applicants when a vacancy occurs.

If you are interested in serving on a South Carolina Chamber committee, submit your letter of application to the Staff Liaison for that committee, or call 800-799-4601.
