Business Community Mourns

The following may be attributed to Ted Pitts, president and CEO of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with our friends in Charleston and all affected by this tragedy. We have lost a true statesman in Senator Clementa Pinckney, one of the General Assembly's most respected and admired members who loved the Lowcountry and South Carolina. We share our grief with all who worked alongside and knew Senator Pinckney.

We continue to pray for all of the families of those impacted by the terrible and senseless act in Charleston.”

The South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, the nation’s first state chamber Accredited with Distinction by the U.S. Chamber, is the state’s largest statewide broad-based business and industry trade association.
As the unified voice for business and industry, the Chamber is a catalyst for increasing wealth and enhancing the state’s global competitiveness in order to improve the quality of life for all South Carolinians.
