Business Community Responds to State of the State Address
January 25, 2018
COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina Chamber of Commerce issued the below statement this evening following the Governor’s State of the State address:
“The business community agrees with Governor McMaster, now is the time to fully exempt military retirement benefits as 26 other states do.” said Ted Pitts, President & CEO of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce. “Not only is this the right thing to do, but our state’s job creators see this proposal as a workforce recruitment tool that will help encourage those who have served our country to choose the Palmetto state as the place to start their second career.”
Tax reform and workforce development are the two key items on the South Carolina Chamber’s 2018 Competitiveness Agenda. View the full agenda here.
