Changes Coming to Certificate of Origin Processing Platform - June 3rd

May 30, 2019

The South Carolina Chamber of Commerce is delighted to announce the eCertify platform for electronic Certificates of Origin is getting an upgrade. This upgraded platform has a new name, essCert.  essCert has been developed with exporters and forwarders in mind and is fast, flexible and easy to use.

On Monday, June 3rd, the new platform will be live. If you are an existing eCertify user, your new essCert profile will be created automatically. You will, however, need to retrieve new login details. You can retrieve these login details starting the morning of June 3rd. To do so please go to www.esscert.com/retrieve and enter your email address then press the "Retrieve" button. Your login details will then be sent to that email address. If you experience any issues retrieving your login details please contact support@esscert.com.

Any document applications through the existing platform, eCertify, must be submitted and fully completed before the close of business on May 31st (4pm EST).  The eCertify system will not be accessible as of June 1st.

Please click here to view a list of Exporter Benefits and click here to access a short guide on how to apply for a Certificate of Origin using the essCert platform.  With the essCert platform there will be a change in the payment process.  Payments will not be made to essCert, but directly to the SC Chamber of Commerce. Upon notification that a request for certification is pending approval, an invoice will be generated and emailed to your company’s main contact with a link for payment.  Once payment has been secured, you will be notified by email of the approval to retrieve your certificate.

Please plan accordingly to allow for a window of transition into the new platform including, but not limited to, potential unavailability of the service.  We will make every effort to ensure that all of our members experience a seamless transition.

If you have any questions or concerns about the new process, please contact:
