COLUMBIA, SC - Monday, April 27, 2015 - Dr. Radwan Hallaba, CEO and Co-Founder of MEDcare Urgent Care, addressed the South Carolina business leaders during the 2015 SC Chamber Competitiveness Agenda Series.  The topic, “Navigating the Healthcare Maze:  Better Quality, Better Cost” focused on three key areas, and compared healthcare to other industries.

Dr. Hallaba stated, “It is vital to all interested parties for there to be transparency, communication and collaboration in order to deliver more health care for less.” In addition, the presentation outlined four main areas of improvement.

  • Encourage, develop, and promote increasing transparency at the provider level and at the insurer level.
  • Stimulate and facilitate direct provider-employer dialogue.
  • Reduce and eliminate artificial barriers to efficiency
  • Get involved and get active with your consumers and your providers.

“Health care is one of the most complex issues facing businesses, and the second highest expenditure for a business after payroll,” said Ted Pitts, president and CEO of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce. “Having experts like Dr. Hallaba join us to share his knowledge, innovations, successes and lessons learned was extremely valuable to the many employers in attendance.”

The Competitiveness Agenda Series is compiled of four informational forums covering the key aspects of the Chamber’s Competitiveness Agenda, including infrastructure, health care, environmental/energy and education. Investors may select individual or multiple forums based on company’s needs and exposure level.
