MEDIA ADVISORY: McMaster, Benjamin, Pitts to Headline Salute to Small Business

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Governor Henry McMaster, Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin and Chamber President and CEO Ted Pitts will deliver remarks at the S.C. Salute to Small Business Awards Luncheon.

Now in its thirteenth year, the 2017 Salute is set for Wednesday, May 3, at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center in downtown Columbia. Wednesday’s luncheon, attended by top entrepreneurs and small business advocates, will honor the Small Business Person of the Year and the winners of the state’s Small Business & Advocacy Awards.

The S.C. Salute to Small Business – presented by Wells Fargo, BMW, Bank of America, the National Association of Minority Contractors and BlueCross BlueShield – is the state’s annual National Small Business Week event.

Organizers of this year’s Salute include: the Small Business Administration, S.C. Department of Commerce, S.C. Business Development Center and S.C. Manufacturing Extension Partnership. Additional information about the event is available here.
