SC Chamber Names Dynamic New Leadership Hires

Leading South Carolina Business Organization Hires Chief Diversity Officer, Chief Revenue Officer, and Chief Financial Officer

COLUMBIA, S.C. The South Carolina Chamber of Commerce (SC Chamber) announced today that it has named hires for three major leadership positions:

  • Chief Diversity Officer (CDO): Cynthia Bennett

Cynthia has served on the SC Chamber team for nearly 22 years, most recently as Vice President of Education and Workforce Development.

  • Chief Revenue Officer (CRO): Kelly Wolf

Kelly spent the last 17 years at the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, most recently as Senior Vice President of Membership and Development.

  • Chief Financial Officer (CFO): Mike Manning

Mike has over 28 years of experience in multiple Chief Financial Officer positions including 18 years as the CFO of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce.

Bennett, Wolf, and Manning have assumed their new positions and are now active with the SC Chamber team.

SC Chamber President & CEO Bob Morgan announced the hires today saying:

“The promotion of Cynthia and addition of Kelly and Mike round out an already strong SC Chamber team that led the organization through challenging times and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Diversity and Inclusion are important values to the business community for many reasons, but ultimately, they are good for business and the right thing to do. People bring different experience, ideas, and backgrounds into the workplace and those things challenge businesses to think in ways they haven’t before. That is good for growth, productivity and the bottom line.

In creating the position of Chief Diversity Officer, we are making the statement that we will continue to be intentional about making D&I a priority and being a resource for our members in this area. Cynthia’s extensive experience with the SC Chamber, public service, and dedication to South Carolina made the choice to promote her into this new position a no-brainer.

We also created the new position of Chief Revenue Officer. This position will be focused on member engagement and growing the SC Chamber’s presence in the State. During her 17 years with the Kentucky Chamber, Kelly oversaw a period of immense growth, both in terms of revenue and impact. She brings vast institutional knowledge to this new position, and we are very lucky to have her join the team.

Finally, the SC Chamber is fortunate to add Mike Manning as Chief Financial Officer. Mike and I worked together at the Charlotte Chamber where he implemented the Chamber’s revenue campaign which raised over $60 million, averaging about $5 million a year. I’m thrilled to be able to work with him again and know he will take us in the right direction.

In looking at delivering on our mission to be the State’s leading voice for business, Cynthia, Kelly, and Mike bring an impressive track record of skills and wins that will help propel us forward to serve the business community of South Carolina.”
