COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina Chamber of Commerce (SC Chamber) is pleased to announce Governor Henry McMaster as the 2024 recipient of the organization’s annual Public Servant of the Year Award, in recognition of his unwavering support for the state’s business community and steadfast leadership that has resulted in South Carolina enjoying one of the most vibrant economies in the nation.

Following the two most successful years in state history for industry recruitment, Governor McMaster has announced nearly 4,000 new jobs and $2.5 billion in capital investment so far this year. According to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, South Carolina led the nation in personal income growth through the first quarter of 2024 at 9.5%. Additionally, for 2024, Area Development has named South Carolina the #2 state for doing business.

The SC Chamber’s annual Public Servant of the Year award recognizes an individual who has served, or currently serves, as a key official in state government and has contributed to the overall well-being and health of the state. Governor McMaster will be recognized during the SC Chamber’s 45^th Annual Summit, presented by Ogletree Deakins, October 28^th-30^th at the Wild Dunes Resort in Isle of Palms, South Carolina.
