    Ted Pitts took over as President and CEO of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce in January of 2015. Ted came to the Chamber after serving first as Deputy Chief of Staff and then Chief of Staff for South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley during her first term in office. Prior to that, Ted served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2003-2010 representing Lexington County. Ted comes from the business community where he was a successful commercial real estate broker and Partner with the South Carolina firm Wilson Kibler. Ted also serves as a Lieutenant Colonel in the South Carolina Army National Guard and is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom Afghanistan. Pitts is a graduate of Presbyterian College, where he now sits on the Board. He and his wife, Christina, have three children and call Lexington home.

    Swati Patel is an attorney who serves as Executive VP of Public Policy, Affiliates & Of Counsel to the SC Chamber of Commerce and President of the Chamber Foundation. Swati has served in both the executive and legislative branches of South Carolina government for nearly twenty years. She began her service as a staff attorney for several legislative committees, including the House Judiciary Committee, House Ethics Committee, and the S.C. Legislative Council, drafting legislation for and advising members of the General Assembly. Swati began her 12-year service in the Governor’s Office first as Deputy Legal Counsel, then Chief Legal Counsel to Governor Mark Sanford and Governor Nikki Haley. Swati ended her government service as Governor Haley’s chief of staff, a position she held until Haley stepped down as Governor. Following her role as chief of staff, Swati established a law and consulting practice offering legal, public policy development, issue management, and government relations services to government agencies, trade groups and business clients. Swati attended the University of South Carolina as an undergraduate and a law student. She is married to Dr. Nick Patel, has two children and lives in Columbia.

    Sunny Philips is a non-profit issue advocacy, grassroots and fundraising consultant who serves as Executive Vice President of Investor Relations for the SC Chamber of Commerce. Sunny has extensive experience in non-profit fundraising where she has been engaged in campaigns from US President to local county council races and everything in between, helping elect many of SC’s top current officeholders. She has previously served as Senior Finance Director at the South Carolina Republican Party as well as serving in the administrations of three South Carolina Governors. Sunny has managed and worked on advocacy campaigns for the University of South Carolina School of Law; Jubilee Academy; IQity; the South Carolina Realtors Association; the SC Policy Council; the SC Sheriff’s Association; and the SC Victim Assistance Network. She led the effort in South Carolina for the Save Our Secret Ballot Committee to defeat Union card check initiatives. She has served on the Board of Directors of United Way’s Success by Six; as Finance Chairman and Endowment Chairman of the Junior League of Columbia; as a member of the Hammond School Ambassadors; and on the Women’s Circle Committee of Eastminster Presbyterian Church. Sunny graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BA in Political Science. She is married to Jay Philips and is a mother of four daughters.

    Susan has an extensive and solid knowledge of accounting with over 20 years experience. She has worked in both the private and non-profit sectors of business during her career, with her last 8 years in non-profit. She is an alumna of the University of South Carolina - Columbia campus and Beta Alpha Psi National Accounting Fraternity - Gamma Beta Chapter. Susan is an active member of Beulah Baptist Church, Hopkins, SC where she currently serves as part of the Finance Ministry Team, the Children’s Ministry Team, and the Celebration choir. Susan volunteers through several venues in the Midlands as a result of her passion for helping others. She actively works with the homeless population in downtown Columbia through Transitions as well as in the past with the Winter Emergency Shelter and Hanna House.

    Cynthia M. Bennett graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BA in Political Science. She is the Vice President of Education and Workforce Development Policies and oversees the education programs for the Chamber. Prior to this position, she served as the AVP of Education and the Business Relations Director for the SC GEAR UP program. Cynthia has over nineteen years of experience working with schools and businesses to improve students' academic achievement and to encourage post secondary education institutions to produce an educated workforce for South Carolina. She also serves as a part of the Chamber's Legislative Team and focuses on the education and workforce legislation. Cynthia has served on the Education Oversight Committee, United Way of the Midlands Board of Directors, SC Afterschool Alliance Board (Chair), and is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated with Richland County Alumnae Chapter. Cynthia is married to James A. Bennett and they have two sons, J. Anthony and Houston.

    Caroline Donaldson is a 1994 Cum Laude graduate of Presbyterian College with a Bachelor of Science in Education and a minor in Psychology. She joined the Chamber in 2013 as an Executive Assistant and Board Secretary. In 2017, Caroline took over as Associate VP of Administrative Services and continues her role as Board Secretary. She is active member of her church, volunteers for 2 organizations that help the fight against pediatric cancers, the WinAnyway Foundation & Kick it Kaylin, and serves on the Rosewood Classical School Board. In her free time she enjoys sports and fitness. Caroline resides in Columbia with her husband Scott and together they have 6 children.
