    Ted Pitts took over as President and CEO of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce in January of 2015. Ted came to the Chamber after serving first as Deputy Chief of Staff and then Chief of Staff for South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley during her first term in office. Prior to that, Ted served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2003-2010 representing Lexington County. Ted comes from the business community where he was a successful commercial real estate broker and Partner with the South Carolina firm Wilson Kibler. Ted also serves as a Major in the South Carolina Army National Guard and is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom Afghanistan. Pitts, 43, is a graduate of Presbyterian College. He and his wife, Christina, have three children and call Lexington home.

    Robbie Barnett joined the chamber in early 2006 after a successful 34 year career managing chemical manufacturing plants for Honeywell and AlliedSignal. Robbie completed postgraduate studies in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and obtained his MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1984. He has also attended executive training programs at University of Virginia, University of Pennsylvania, and the University of Michigan. He is a certified Six Sigma Leadership Black Belt. Robbie is a member of SC State Board for Technical and Comprehensive Education, the SC Council on Competitiveness, Education and Workforce Development Task Force, the SC Education Policy Fellowship Program Board, the SC Work Ready Community State Leadership Team, and the Board for the SC Coalition for Mathematics & Science. He is a past Chairman of the SC Manufacturers Alliance’s Chemistry Council, the Midlands Literacy Initiative, the Regional Education Center Advisory Panel and the United Way of the Midlands Education, Job and Life Skills Council. He has also served on the Denmark Technical College Commission and the United Way Association of SC Board of Directors. He is an avid golfer and sportsman and enjoys classic car restoration.

    Sunny Philips is a non-profit issue advocacy, grassroots and fundraising consultant who serves as VP of Membership for the SC Chamber of Commerce. Sunny has extensive experience in non-profit fundraising where she has been engaged in campaigns from US President to local county council races and everything in between, helping elect many of SC’s top current officeholders. She has previously served as Senior Finance Director at the South Carolina Republican Party as well as serving in the administrations of three South Carolina Governors. Sunny has managed and worked on advocacy campaigns for the University of South Carolina School of Law; Jubilee Academy; IQity; the South Carolina Realtors Association; the SC Policy Council; the SC Sheriff’s Association; and the SC Victim Assistance Network. She led the effort in South Carolina for the Save Our Secret Ballot Committee to defeat Union card check initiatives. She has served on the Board of Directors of United Way’s Success by Six; as Finance Chairman and Endowment Chairman of the Junior League of Columbia; as a member of the Hammond School Ambassadors; and on the Women’s Circle Committee of Eastminster Presbyterian Church. Sunny graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BA in Political Science. She is married to Jay Philips and is a mother of four daughters.

    Mark Harmon is a 2001 graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science in Ceramic and Materials Engineering. After four years in the engineering profession, Mark chose to pursue a career in the political world, serving as Majority Research Director for the South Carolina Senate. In 2011, he accepted the role of Executive Director with the SC Senate Republican Caucus, leading the organization’s in promoting pro-business legislative policies, as well as fundraising efforts to support third party campaigns in State Senate races. In January of 2015, Mark joined the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce as their lead lobbyist for state and federal matters. Mark and his wife, Elizabeth, reside in Columbia, and are members of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral.     Susan has an extensive and solid knowledge of accounting with over 20 years experience. She has worked in both the private and non-profit sectors of business during her career, with her last 8 years in non-profit. She is an alumna of the University of South Carolina - Columbia campus and Beta Alpha Psi National Accounting Fraternity - Gamma Beta Chapter. Susan is an active member of Beulah Baptist Church, Hopkins, SC where she currently serves as part of the Finance Ministry Team, the Children’s Ministry Team, and the Celebration choir. Susan volunteers through several venues in the Midlands as a result of her passion for helping others. She actively works with the homeless population in downtown Columbia through Transitions as well as in the past with the Winter Emergency Shelter and Hanna House.

    Cynthia M. Bennett graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BA in Political Science. She is the Director of Business Relations for SC GEAR UP at the SC Chamber of Commerce. Prior to this position she served as the Partnerships Coordinator and Local Chamber Liaison with the initial GEAR UP program High Performance Partnerships. Cynthia has over sixteen years of experience working with schools and businesses to improve student’s academic achievement and encouraging an educated workforce for South Carolina. Cynthia serves on several boards: Board Member of the United Way of the Midlands (Nominating Committee) and The Education and Job & Life Skills Council for the United Way of the Midlands (Past Chair), Spring Valley High School Education Foundation (Secretary).

    Caroline Donaldson is a 1994 Cum Laude graduate of Presbyterian College with a Bachelor of Science in Education and a minor in Psychology. She joined the Chamber in 2013 as an Executive Assistant and Board Secretary. In 2016, Caroline took over as Office Manager and continues her role as Board Secretary. She is active member of her church, volunteers for the WinAnyway Foundation for Pediatric Cancer, serves as Board Secretary for the Kick it Kaylin Non-Profit Group, serves on the Rosewood Classical School Board and in her free time she enjoys sports and fitness. Caroline resides in Columbia with her husband Scott and together they have 6 children.

    Kate Bondurant joined the Chamber in 2016 after earning her Master of Public Policy degree from the University of Virginia, where she currently serves on the Batten Alumni Advisory Board. Prior to joining the Chamber, Kate worked with Washington, DC speechwriting firm High Lantern Group and on former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley's Legislative & Cabinet Affairs team. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, where she earned her B.A. in Political Science with a concentration in Public Relations, and she enjoys volunteering, hiking, and kayaking.
